  2. 2. Analyze

Review strength, synergy, combos, legality, bracket, and experience profile.

  3. 3. Balance

Compare decks and prepare a clearer Rule Zero conversation.

SpellRank estimates deck strength and compatibility. It cannot guarantee the result of a Commander game.

Accepts “1 Card Name”, “1x Card Name”, bare names, section headers, and double-faced or split names. Unresolved cards are always reported, never substituted.

Standalone card scores

A deterministic 0–100 rating built from ten weighted components and explicit penalties — never rarity, price or popularity.

Deck-aware rescoring

Every card is recalculated inside your list: commander synergy, role need, castability, combos and marginal contribution.

Combos and engines

Enabler and payoff relationships are detected from Oracle text with the exact passage cited as evidence.

Bracket, separately

An unofficial 1–5 bracket estimate derived from barometers, kept apart from the numeric power score.

Why you can trust the numbers

Primary scores never come from a language model. Every component is a documented formula over Oracle text, types, mana costs and detected relationships, run at a pinned engine version so historical results stay reproducible. Missing information lowers confidence instead of being scored as zero.

  • • Ten weighted standalone components, capped penalties at −30.
  • • Peer adjustment limited to ±10 and damped so weak cards are never promoted.
  • • Deck power is structural, not an average of card scores.
  • • Bracket estimate is unofficial and reported separately.
